By completing each of the stages below, our swimmers will have achieved all of the following. All stages once completed, have their own stage complete certificate & badge. There are also distance awards and badges for corresponding stages. Each stage will also have the chance to take part in our 'Water Safety week' which will take place during lesson times, twice a year.
With/without floats & support:

🫧 Push & glide from a wall on back, arms can be above head or by side
🫧 Push & glide from a wall on front, with arms extended
🫧 Travel on back using recognised leg action with feet off floor for 5m, NO floats

🫧 Perform a tuck (knees to chest) to rotate from flat float on front, to back float, return to standing
🫧 Perform a tuck (knees to chest) to rotate from flat float on back, to front float, return to standing
🫧 Perform a log roll from back to front
🫧 Perform a log roll from front to back
🫧 Exit the water NO support
Without floats & support
🫧 Jump in a minimum depth of 1m and fully submerge
🫧 Sink, push & glide away from wall, maintaining streamline position
🫧 Push & glide on front, with arms extended, log roll onto back
🫧 Push & glide on back, with arms extended and log roll onto front
🫧 Travel 5m on front, perform a tuck onto back and return on back
🫧 Fully submerge to pick up object from bottom of pool
🫧 Answer 3 questions from the Water Safety Code
🫧 Push & glide, travel 10m on back
🫧 Push & glide, travel 10m on front
🫧 Perform a tuck float (mushroom float) & hold for 3 seconds
🫧 Exit the water without using steps, NO support
🫧 Perform a sequence of changing shapes, whilst floating, to demonstrate an understanding of floating
🫧 Push & glide off the wall, towards the pool floor
🫧 Kick 10m backstroke, float optional
🫧 Kick 10m front crawl, float optional
🫧 Kick 10m butterfly on front or back
🫧 Kick 10m breaststroke on front, float optional
🫧 Perform head-first sculling on back for 5m
🫧 Travel on back & log roll in one continuous movement onto front
🫧 Travel on front & long roll in one continuous movement onto back
🫧 Push & glide, swim 10m, choice of stroke
🫧 Perform flat stationary scull on back
🫧 Perform feet-first sculling for 5m on back
🫧 Perform a sculling pattern with a partner for 30-45seconds, must include rotation
🫧 Tread water for 30 seconds, using eggbeater
🫧 Perform 3 different shaped jumps into deep water
🫧 Push & glide, swim 10m backstroke to Swim England standards
🫧 Push & glide, swim 10m front crawl to Swim England standards
🫧 Push & glide, swim 10m breaststroke to Swim England standards
🫧 Push & glide, swim 10m butterfly to Swim England standards
🫧 Perform a handstand for 3 seconds minimum
🫧 Perform a forward somersault
🫧 Demonstrate an action for getting help
